Is it all a question of scaling? Expanding successful waste management models in the Global South faster with combined forces
November 10, 2020

The time for experiments is running out. If it does not succeed quickly in establishing a systematic and resilient waste management system in the Global South, many other efforts to reduce the input of plastic waste into the environment will be in vain. This is shown not only by our latest report “The Waste of Others”, but also by the discussion from past online seminars.
In the last part of our first POLYPROBLEM online workshop series, we will therefore address the question: How can effective solutions be scaled up faster with actors from different sectors? Together with Collective Impact experts and scaling champions, we will discuss success factors and pitfalls.
Host
Michael Alberg-Seberich is Managing Director of Wider Sense. He heads the consulting work and has been involved for more than 15 years with all issues relating to philanthropy, CSR and impact investing. The scaling of successful models is particularly close to his heart.

Before returning to Germany in 2018, he was involved in the management of several NGOs and academic institutions.
