SampApp – Learning for a healthy living environment
In Indonesia – as in many Southeast Asian countries – massive amounts of plastic waste meet an inadequate disposal infrastructure.
The Veritas Edukasi Lingkungan (VEL) foundation, founded by German journalist Benedict Wermter, relies on digital environmental education as a lever for change. With the SampApp, it conveys knowledge about consumer behavior, waste prevention, and proper disposal in a simple and playful way. The target group is primarily young Indonesian consumers who are reached via smartphones.
The Röchling Foundation supports VEL in scaling the app and systematically measuring its impact.
